Description Producing dry ice when and where it is required is not only practical but economical as well. Dry ice storage losses from sublimation, handling and the space required to warehouse the ice are minimized, while productivity is maximized. Cryotronix manufactures and distributes a wide range of dry ice producing equipment. From full size block presses to miniature pelletizers, this equipment is built to perform reliably and to provide the user with quality dry ice. The operating principles of dry ice production are simple. First liquid carbon dioxide ( CO2 ) is flashed into the forming chamber in which it is converted into snow and vapor. The vapor is exhausted, while the snow is either hydraulically pressed into a form or extruded through a die to produce the shape and size of dry ice desired. In the case of a press, the formed dry ice is unloaded, then the cycle is repeated. The entire process is controlled electronically and all key parameters are monitored.
